Impacts of a Biden Administration on your Business

Dane Steffenson, Littler

Now that the dust has settled on the 2020 elections and Democrats have control of the country, employers should prepare for drastic, swift and sweeping changes to employment laws.  Biden has an aggressive agenda and a small army of extremely experienced government activists ready to roll out the changes.

Specific topics will include:

  • Update on what legislation has already been frozen or changed
  • What the election results mean for workforce policy?
  • Where will the 117th Congress focus its attention in labor and employment policy?
  • What administration workforce priorities and initiatives can employers expect in the coming year?
    • National OSHA Emergency Rules, $15 minimum wage, and more
  • How will the election results impact the labor agencies (DOL, NLRB, EEOC)?

This update will be provided by local attorney Dane Steffenson who is a core member of Littler Mendelson’s Workplace Policy Institute, which partners with the employer community to engage in legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts on issues that impact their workplaces, and provides clients with unique insights into local, state and federal labor policy developments while working to affect workplace policies throughout the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government.

Dane joined Littler Mendelson’s Atlanta office after more than 17 years advising on and litigating some of the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) most complex, novel and high-profile matters.   His national practice focuses on assisting employers navigate workplace challenges, including all the challenges created by COVID, as well complying with OSHA, the FLSA and other wage and hour laws, fiduciary obligations under ERISA, and successfully navigating DOL investigations.
